The Institute for Transport Studies is the UK’s largest centre for transport teaching and research, with over 100 academic and research staff and more than 80 post graduate researchers (PhDs). We deliver internationally excellent* research outputs, which impact upon transport policy and practice, and which contribute to the wider economy and society – including through strong collaborative research and CPD offerings – and with guidance from a cross-sectoral industry Advisory Board.
The quality of our research, and the funding it attracts, means we’re able to invest in world-class facilities and academic staff who are actively engaged in cutting-edge research. This research base in turn, underpins our Masters teaching programmes, on which we have over 200 Masters students from over 35 countries studying with us annually – contributing to a growing global alumni network and our diverse international reach and impact.
