We are pleased to invite you to our first webinar, “Small vehicles, Big impact: Exploring ultracompact BEVs and battery swapping for smarter and efficient urban mobility”, taking place on 27 May 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 CEST.

Battery swapping technology offers a flexible energy storage solution, compensating for fluctuations in demand and supply while enhancing the battery electric vehicle (BEV) user experience by eliminating charging waiting time. In the EV industry, long driving range is a criterion to compare different vehicles, as it is very significant for ease of use and comfort. While higher capacities for the battery means longer range for the vehicle, some car classes do not have space and mass required for bigger batteries. Swappable battery provides an alternative for these smaller-size vehicles.

Co-funded by the European Union and UKRI, the ZEV-UP project is developing a frugal, modular EV prototype to improve EV technology in vehicle design and charging solutions. This webinar will present the project’s concept of swappable batteries and explore future market and technology solutions along with future regulatory considerations for accelerating EV adoption.

The event will feature insights from ZEV-UP partners and external experts, offering a comprehensive view on the role of battery swapping in the future of electromobility and sustainable urban mobility.
