ZEV-UP participated in the European Transport Conference (ETC), held this year from 17 to 19 September in Antwerp, Belgium. Organised by the Association for European Transport (AET), the ETC brings together transport stakeholders, policymakers, and researchers from all over Europe under the theme of “Providing mobility and access for current and future generations”, promoting the exchange of knowledge and good practices to improve transport systems, including freight and passenger transport.
ZEV-UP was represented at the event by Mustafa Aşan from our partner FEV Türkiye, who presented the paper “Lightweighting Strategies for L-Category Electric Vehicles: A Cost-Environmental Trade-Off Analysis of Aluminium-Abs Body Design”, written in collaboration with Paulo Cantillano-Lizana from UNIMORE/ICOOR. The paper’s key findings highlight that using an aluminium and ABS structure in an L7E vehicle significantly reduces its weight, which in turns improves mileage and make the vehicle efficient. Both materials can be recycled, contributing to ZEV-UP’s sustainability goals. In addition, aluminium offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, helping maintiain passenger safety – a critical consideration for all vehicles.
Stay tuned for the publication of the paper on our website.
