ZEV-UP will take part in the Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2026, Europe’s largest transport research event, taking place in Budapest from 18 to 21 May. Co-organised by the European Commission and other transport-related organisations, the conference will highlight Hungarian, European, and global expertise in transport innovation under the theme ReGeneration in transport.

More than 3,000 attendees are expected to join the discussions on current challenges, recent research outcomes, and future developments in mobility and transport, strengthening collaboration between the European and international transport research communities.

ZEV-UP will be presenting three papers during the event:

• “Electric Vehicle Adoption in Developing Economies: Literature Insights and Forecast for South Africa” – Technical Session 1 on Economic analysis of rail transport systems (Transportation Economics) on 18 May, 08:45-10:15
• “Urban EV Adoption Charging Infrastructure Readiness Level (ECIRL) Index: A Strategic Tool for Policymakers to Assess Public Charging Infrastructure” – Poster presentation
• “Market Positioning for a New Compact Battery Electric Vehicle: Addressing Market Gaps in L6e And L7e Segments” – poster presentation
