The London EV Show took place from 26 to 28 November at ExCeL London, bringing together over 180 Electric Vehicle (EV) experts to exchange knowledge and experience on the latest developments in electromobility. This leading event focused on cutting-edge technologies and sustainable mobility solutions, addressing key topics such as  battery management, charging infrastructure, and fleet electrification.

As part of the event’s Track 2 programme, our Project Coordinator, Emin Aliyev (ERTICO), participated in Panel 2 on “Battery Swapping vs. Fast Charging: Which Approach Fits Different Use Cases?” on Thursday 28 November. The session examined the benefits and challenges of these two approaches for diverse vehicles and environments, together with experts including Victor Lakhodynov (SkyBridge), Marek Gutt Mostowy (Willbert by Euroloop), Robert Camm (DNV), and Jeric Fang (Hubei N&P Energy Technology).

During his presentation, Emin Aliyev introduced the ZEV-UP project and its innovative frugal vehicle concept. He highlighted the success of battery swapping across various use cases and business models, emphasising the need for standardisation and stronger public-private partnerships to enable widespread adoption. He also shared ZEV-UP’s plans to realise battery swapping and develop frugal, modular Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) in the coming years.

The audience showed particular interest in these forward-looking concepts, sparking engaging discussions and valuable exchanges.
