Organised by ERTICO, the 30th edition of the ITS World Congress was a global platform for cutting-edge mobility solutions, featuring insightful discussions and international perspectives on the future of transport and mobility. Clean mobility was one of the key themes of the Congress, highlighting the vital importance of clean and smart urban mobility solutions and services to achieve climate-neutral transportation, such as the ZEV-UP vehicle.
Our Project Coordinator, Emin Aliyev, gave a detailed presentation of ZEV-UP at the ERTICO stand on Wednesday 18 September. His presentation highlighted the challenges that ZEV-UP seeks to address, such as the high cost of BEVs, the congestion issues in urban areas, user acceptance, and the integration of BEVs into the existing urban infrastructure. The project’s objectives and main activities were also highlighted, as well as the technological innovations of our three vehicle variants, which will include a swappable battery system, a scalable chassis, lightweight and sustainable materials, and a modular vehicle platform. Emin Aliyev also provided insights into the expected impact of ZEV-UP, such as the accelerated uptake of affordable ultra-compact vehicles, the ease of use in urban areas accounting for traffic and parking conditions and the lower energy consumption.
Throughout the event, ZEV-UP had a dedicated stand at the ERTICO European Pavilion, where visitors could learn about the project’s objectives. An interactive screen also gave visitors the opportunity to visit our website and find out more information.
ZEV-UP’s presence at the Congress stressed the importance of international collaboration and knowledge exchange to achieve cleaner urban mobility. The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with international stakeholders and foster partnerships to drive forward innovative solutions for zero-emission mobility.
